Role Overview:
As a Finance Generalist Intern at TripGain, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple areas within the finance department. You will assist with financial planning, analysis, reporting, and other day-to-day operations. This internship will provide a well-rounded experience and exposure to different aspects of finance, making it a great starting point for a future career in finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis Support
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Help analyze financial data and assist in identifying trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
Support the team in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
Budgeting & Forecasting Assistance
Help with the preparation and maintenance of budget templates and financial forecasts.
Assist in comparing actual financial performance against budgeted amounts and reporting variances.
Accounts Support
Provide support in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Help with invoicing, billing, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of financial transactions.
Assist with reconciliations of accounts and resolving discrepancies.
Cash Flow Management
Assist in tracking company cash flows and preparing cash flow reports.
Support the finance team in ensuring the business has adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations.
Financial Compliance & Documentation
Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
Assist in maintaining organized financial records and documentation for audits and tax purposes.
Ad-hoc Financial Projects
Provide support for ad-hoc finance projects as required by the team.
Assist with preparing presentations and reports for senior leadership or stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, marketing, sales) to gather and analyze financial data that impacts the broader business.
Support the finance team in cross-departmental initiatives and projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: 0-1 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles (internships or part-time work is acceptable).
Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of financial principles and familiarity with Microsoft Excel or similar tools. Knowledge of accounting software is a plus.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work well with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
